Handmade goods – fair traded. Abury creates the bridge between cultures, between people – for a fair coexistence.
Noodles visiting ABURY. We wanted to take a closer look at what this interesting concept is all about, which we always hear good things about. Because sustainability and craftsmanship tradition we appreciate very much.
We are welcomed by Andrea Bury, the initiator and the soul of the Abury brand, which stands for sustainability, fair trade and gorgeous handmade designs. The main goal is to combine desires for style and ethics in a single novel approach.
ABURY seeks, preserves and distributes exclusive, authentic handicrafts from around the world – unique originals and desirable fashion items with history and meaning.
The ABURY Foundation supports the preservation of cultural diversity, especially the preservation of old arts and crafts as well as intangible cultural values such as fairy tales, myths, music, etc.. The intention of the ABURY Foundation is to enable people in as many areas of the world as possible to earn a living again with their old skills and knowledge.
The label starts with the “BerberBags”, traditionally handmade vintage leather bags from Morocco. Each of the bags, which can be up to 80 years old, is an individually embroidered one-off and a small work of art in itself. Due to industrial mass production, handicrafts are threatened with extinction. ABURY recycles profits from sales and trains a new generation of seamstresses in its own sewing school.
Noodles Autentic Furniture is based on craftsmanship tradition, and therefore we are happy to have our furniture pieces in the ABURY store in Prenzlauer Berg. And as you can see: The industrial furniture pieces fit very well into the concept and form a pleasant contrast and beautifully accentuate the presented goods.
